Pacific Lutheran University partners with Learners Edge by offering graduate level continuing education credits in association with Learners Edge online courses, non-degree certificates and book study programs.


Accreditation: Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU)

Continuing education graduate credit is intended to fulfill requirements for
license renewal/lane change when the student has obtained proper prior approval.

Grades and Transcripts

Learners Edge does not process transcripts. Please contact Pacific Lutheran University directly. It is recommended that your completed coursework arrive in the Learners Edge office at least 30 days prior to your transcript deadline.

Specific Steps/Timelines

  • Learners Edge will evaluate all coursework within 7-10 business days of its arrival in our office or submission of your final online assignment. If you have provided a valid email address to Learners Edge, you will receive an email notification of completion. (You may receive multiple notifications of completion if you have registered for multiple courses). Please note that this email does not indicate your transcript is ready to be ordered.
  • After notification of completion by Learners Edge, the grade will be posted in the PLU system within 5 business days.
  • NOTE: Please do not order transcripts from PLU until you receive the PLU Partnerships & Professional Development grade entry emails for ALL courses taken with Learners Edge.
  • PLU will process transcripts in a timely manner. Holidays may delay processing to the maximum days listed.
  • After the appropriate notifications have been received, you may order an official PLU transcript through the National Student Clearinghouse.  Please allow up to 5 business days to process transcript orders – delivery after that time is based on shipping method.

Tax Information

Students taking Learners Edge courses for credit through PLU are considered non-degree seeking students and therefore PLU does not provide the IRS Form 1098-T. Issuance of IRS Form 1098-T is only provided for degree seeking students. PLU encourages students to seek advice from a competent professional tax advisor regarding the taxation implications of education related expenses.
